Statement From SED Commissioner John B. King, Jr. On SED鈥檚 Successful Application For The Community Eligiblity Option Child Nutrition Program
"The State Education Department's (SED) application for implementation of the Community Eligibility Option child nutrition program is one of four chosen by the United States Department of Agriculture.听 That鈥檚 great news for students, schools, and families.听This program may universally provide breakfast and听lunch听to children in high-poverty schools.听听When school starts up in September,听more students can get the听healthy meals they need.听The approval of SED鈥檚 application is another step toward making sure all our students have the nutrition they need to succeed in the classroom."
