Educational Design and Technology
The É«ÖÐÉ« Learning Technology Grant (LTG) program is a three-year program that awards $3.2 million annually to a variety of educational technology programs statewide. The current grant cycle ends June 30, 2018. This memo is to inform you of changes to the 2018-2021 LTG program.
As opposed to past years, grants will be awarded to single public school districts or consortia of districts or districts and BOCES (in NYC, awards will be granted to Community School Districts or consortia of CSDs). The district grant awards have increased significantly; the maximum award has historically been $50,000 per year for three years. For the 2018-2021 cycle, grants awards will be a maximum of $100,000 per year for three years for single Rest of State district applicants, and $200,000 per year for Big 5 districts and consortia.
All religious and independent schools within the boundaries of the public school district applicants must be given the opportunity to participate. School librarians and school libraries are encouraged to continue to play an important role in LTG-funded programs.
In keeping with É«ÖÐɫ’s Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) plan, this grant program will provide funding to promote collaboration among public school districts, BOCES, and religious and independent schools to develop, implement, and share programs, activities, and materials to facilitate the delivery of quality instruction, increase equitable access to high-quality learning experiences, and promote culturally- and linguistically-responsive learning environments for all students, using educational technology.
While the 2018-21 LTG does not require the participation of a priority or focus school in a district’s application, bonus points will be granted for applications that include a school in accountability status. Bonus points will also be granted for applications from districts classified as rural, or a district serving a high percentage of English Language Learners/Multilingual Learners (ELL/MLL) students, students with disabilities, and/or economically disadvantaged students.
