Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education

Culturally responsive-sustaining (CR-S) education is grounded in a cultural view of learning and human development in which multiple expressions of diversity are recognized and regarded as assets for teaching and learning.

Resources include the Culturally Responsive-Sustaining (CR-S) Education Framework, CR-S Framework Briefs, and a CR-S Implementation Roadmap.

Additional resources for school and district leaders, teachers, and families are forthcoming.
Culturally Responsive-Sustaining (CR-S)
Framework
The CR-S Framework creates student-centered learning environments that affirm racial, linguistic, and cultural identities; prepare students for rigor and independent learning; develop students’ abilities to connect across lines of difference; elevate historically marginalized voices; and empower students as agents of positive social change.
